Hi there, wanted your opinion on this one. Im currently a finance channel but i also have content about taxes (my more popular videos are of this topic but from 2020/21 as I'm reactivating my yt channel).
Also i have a taxes book and was thinking if it would be better to start a new channel for this topic and promote my book indirectly or not. Cause my last video about taxes didnt perform well at all and other topics are performing better.

Someone once told me k should focus on a niche, so... Thinking about it.

Would really appreciate your thoughs on this one. Thanks!!! 🙌🏾✨

The answer to this is always, is it the same audience?

Different audience? Different channel.

Same audience? Same channel.

In my other normal business, I do consultancy work for a number of tax lawyers & tax consultants in the UK, none have a YouTube channel but was discussing with three interconnected firms who have a large social media presence already about them starting a YT channel, I suppose it depends on what jurisdiction your content is for, whether that content is deemed as Tax Advice which it probably will be and whether you personally have sufficient Professional Indemnity Insurance to cover yourself giving advice to the masses via YT. That's the main reason why these large corporates I deal with, don't have a YT channel because it would be deemed as advice in the UK and so many people will act from social media first before seeking appropriate advice based on their circumstances. There is a woman who gives roughshod bad tax advice on tiktok more akin to evasion than avoidance and most of what she says is total nonsense but 1000s of people interact with her everyday.

@trim warren what a great point. I hope eventually more accurate content will flourish more on socials because it’s becoming very powerful influencing decision making.
