Hey everyone! I’m helping my fiancé build her real estate YouTube channel and have been working hard on it these past few weeks.

After studying thumbnails and the psychology behind them, was wondering what you thought of this?

The woman in the image isn’t my fiancé, we’re currently using her as a reference as to what we want my fiancé to do in the picture,

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

This is really good, and given the context of a realtor trying to gain the attention of potential seattlites this goes straight to the heart of "do we really want to move to Seattle?"

You've captured the space needle, a Seattle icon. You've built an unclosed loop with the blury "#4" picture which makes me want to watch. And you've drawn attention to it by her pointing at it.

One test I always do is to photoshop a thumbnail into youtube to see if it catches my eye, if the text is big enough to read quickly, etc. This one definitely works IMO.

Thank you so much @devout agate ! Truly appreciate the notes and advice for the thumbnail photoshop. Do you just grab a screenshot of your homepage for the youtube thumbnail test? Also, do you think the city backdrop is too active or just works well enough?

Yeah, screenshot from youtube then paste in the thumbnail I want to test and resize it. I grab a new screenshot from youtube each time so I don't get used to the static elements and trick my brain into automatically focusing on the new element.

No, I don't think it's too busy - the image of the girl, the blurred image, and the text (especially the text) are big enough and pop enough to not get overwhelmed by the background.

I like it

No empty space, well balanced and stands out

However, from a content perspective I'd never blur #2,3,4,5 as like it's a bit shady click worthy tactic

move the text anywhere else but the bottom right. It will get blocked by things youtube will layer on top of it.
