Afterpay payments require two sets of addresses: shipping and billing - https://stripe.com/docs/payments/afterpay-clearpay/accept-a-payment?platform=web&ui=API

sharing this to highlight how our guide does this: shipping address is included in the PaymentIntent on creation, while billing address is passed when confirming the PaymentIntent on the client side

The guide is just an illustration of how it can be done (shipping address on PaymentIntent creation, billing address passed client side) but, you're right, that assumes you've already collected the customer's shipping details
