If you're resubmitting the card number instead of using the Payment Method you initially created, then that will result in multiple payment methods

Thanks @shadow slate! To make sure I’m following, a payment method has to be created first before a charge can be initiated right? There isn’t a way to make the charge with the card number only?

Okay cool and will the above approach result in duplicated customers, or only a duplicated payment method every time a charge is created?

Or will they be created as guest customers if no cus_id is passed in the API call?

It depends on what product you're using.

#

Are you just creating Payment Intents? Or are you using Checkout? Elements? Invoices?
