Hi there

#

Are you planning on using cross border payouts with Express?

#

That would expand the possible country list for Express greatly

Thanks!! I'll check the link. We really nwant to support as many countries as possible. Standard accounts are preferably in my case because of lower liability for the platform, but express I think has more supported countries (actually I've tested this) so I was thinking on choosing the account type on country basis.

So to answer your question, we plan to create standard or express accounts depending on costumer's country. Standard account are preferably but they're supported in only +40 counties. Any recommendations besides the cross- border payout?

bismark had to step out but I can help. We typically recommend against mixed account types like that. I can check in to more specific reasons why but it can be hard to manage and keep track of what each can do

What kind of recommendations are you looking for here?

Thanks for replying. Indeed using 2 different connected account types is a bit more complex but increases the number of supported countries to 88(express accounts) taking the benefits of standard accounts for 40 counties. I wonder if there's a better way of doing this (probably cross-border is exactly what we need).

In the meantime I'll be nice to have a list of countries supported by express and specially the list for standard. I think not all the countries y the global list are supported by standard accounts.

Definitely, kind of mind boggling how many considerations there can be when starting out a platform like this. Our Support team can also be a great resource to consult on how to support your use case with those offerings https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true

Checking in to that. I thought that that list was correct for where we support Standard accounts but will double check.

Again thank you so much for the answer. Please let me know if you find out anything regarding this issue. I'll be a great help to take the right decision.

That global page should be accurate as far as I can see, is there a specific country listed there that you have had trouble creating a standard account for?

Well not sure if is a problem itself. They're 47 countries in the list , none of beta countries are supported by standard. And express support more countries.

I've found that the country spec API has broader scope. For example, I can create a express connected account for AR through API, but not a standard account. But Argentina is not on the global list.

The beta countries should be available through standard at least to my understanding though you would have to reach out to our support team about that.

And yes definitely, if you need to support a user in a country like Argentina, the only option at the moment is an Express or Custom account.
