@hardy barn you can confirm a SetupIntent with an existing PaymentMethod id pm_123 so yes, if you do that multiple times then it can be associated with multiple ones

many reasons, re-doing 3DS for future payments, getting a new mandate, setting up the PM for multiple connected accounts, etc.

if you just do cards, it's not common though, it's just possible
