Hi there! I don't know too much about the Avalara integration. I think you would be better off reaching out to Avalara for whether it works with coupons or not. I think it does, but I'm not 100%.
Can I ask why you are wanting to use Avalara over Stripe Tax?
I believe Avalera has better tranasaction rates and the client is already using it for a few their businesses. Thanks for the tip, I guess we will have to contact Avalera to get a better idea of what it's capable of in the Stripe platform. That page had the deprecated label on it, does this mean that the Avalera integration works, but may not in the future?
That page is for our old Orders API which is deprecated.
Integrating Avalara itself is not deprecated.
But you should not use our old Orders API (we just released a new Orders API if you want to use Orders).
So our current proof of concept is using Stripe's invoicing API. Does the Avalera integration work with that as well for automatic tax calculation? (i.e. automatic_tax.enabled = true)
or does it only work with the Orders API?
Yes Avalara can be used with invoicing and Stripe Tax also works with invoicing.
OK great. We've also had conversations with some product people at Stripe regarding Stripe Cart. Do you foresee any issues with Avalera integrating with that?
Stripe Cart?
I don't know what that is 😅
Are you sure they used the term "Cart"?
hmm, i believe so, but I know it's not for public consumption just yet so maybe it isn't being publicized
Gotcha. I'd recommend reaching out to your contact for more information about it in that case.
will do. thx
