Have you tested your Connect onboarding flow? Bank account collection is part of the Standard and Express connect onboarding.

hi, yes, gave it a test and it successfully collected basic identity information, just not the bank account, even though the external_account is still in my list of fields_needed for verification

i assume then, since you didn't mention custom accounts, that this is not included in the stripe hosted onboarding for those?

just making sure there isn't a setting or parameter I'm missing

Okay. Some evaluations require the account be initially onboarded. If you create an additional Account onboarding Link for the same account, do you see external account collection? Also what capabilities did you create the account with?

Custom Connected Account onboarding does not collect bank details (search this Discord channel) - that has to be done via API (or so I've read on this channel)

i requested transfers as well as card_payments, both of which are now active it looks (after initial identity verification). Calling the link generation URL again brings me to the same page with the option to edit/resubmit identity info. I also set collect=eventually_due if that's relevant
