If you're using Checkout, yes you can set payment_intent_data['description'] which should show up on the report as my colleague confirmed yesterday https://stripe.com/docs/api/checkout/sessions/create#create_checkout_session-payment_intent_data-description

Is there a way I can confirm this to show my bosses, because it is holding up a deployment?

Also, I can see when creating a custom report that there is some metadata parameters that we can add to the report. Is there a way to configure that with a Checkout session?

I'm not sure if there's a way to validate that without running the report 😦
We're not super familiar with reports on this server, I'd recommend talking to our support to get more specific answer as they'd have more context on this
