I believe you're seeing this behavior because you're using both Setup AND Payment Intents. You're saving the payment method information through a Setup Intent (which is causing the 0€ auth), and then a few minutes later you're immediately using the saved Payment Method in a Payment Intent.

Is there a reason you're not just saving the payment method information as part of the Payment Intent?
