This isn't really possible since Payment Links are meant for a one-to-many approach.

You would use a Checkout Session in this case to get the exact functionality you want.

You can set https://stripe.com/docs/api/payment_links/payment_links/create#create_payment_link-customer_creation

To if_required

Then you will only have new Customers created if they are required based on your Payment Link

Humm got... the only downside of using Checkout Session is that it won't be possible to use that awesome frontend page that the Payment Link has, right?

Both Payment Links and Stripe Checkout use the same Checkout page
