Is there a reason you're doing this instead of relying on automatic payouts?

We would have automatic payouts set up as well, but it was my understanding that a payout would not occur if the net balance for the "payout period" is negative. Is that correct?

That's correct, if there are no available funds to payout then one wouldn't be generated

Solid. So if there are no funds to payout for the prior week's transactions, is there any type of identifier or event that can link that group of transactions to a payout attempt or call request?

I don't think so - we'd simply wait until the balance is no longer negative and then resume payouts from there
