Hello @twilit niche let's talk here instead of in the channel please

We setup schedules on our subscriptions to simulate an annual renewal
Then we listen for the webhook event of the paid invoice to tell us to update the customer's profile on our side once they've successfully paid for their renewal
I've been told in this discord previously that we should be able to track the "period start" of the first line item on the renewal invoice to determine whether this is a renewal invoice or not
It should match up to the start date of the subscription that we track on our side + 1.year (if that makes sense)
However, on this invoice, the "period start" was May 11th, when the subscription cycle was setup to charge this invoice on May 20th
Just wondering why that date was May 11th, and not May 20th like we were expecting?

Thank you!

that invoice has tons of proration items together which make it look like you changed the billing cycle a few times

Oh, this looks awesome. Is this new?

yeah it launched a few months ago

I looked at your subscription but it's quite hard to parse especially as you keep updating that subscription over and over

As well, is there any avenue (paid consult or free) that we could sit down with someone on your end to understand how to best support our workflows? We've been using Stripe for a long time and I'm afraid that when we started this platform we made some design decisions due to Stripe's capabilities at the time that are likely causing us major headaches.

#

It would be awesome to understand where we're being dumb and how we could better use Stripe to support our workflows. Is there any kind of support like that, that we could tap into?

#

Because yeah, we're basically providing a subscription to our customer to allow them to insure specific items that they own. They can update that subscription to add new items or take items out of their insured subscription at any time during their annual sub period, which is why we're constantly updating the subscription to reflect the new price after an addition/removal

#

I know that we're probably not doing that in the smartest way and I'd like to find out the best way to support that, but basically only know of this discord as a way to get fast support.

We don't really have a flow to "sit down with you" no. But we're happy to help here with questions

Got it, okay. I don't have a ton of time to chat about it right this minute, but will keep this in mind in the future. Really appreciate the link you provided.
