oh alright, I am just a bit confused since

for example this invoice failed because the customer failed to authenticate: in_1L5AQpDuowMsFSZJBlbp5gjU - it now says that stripe will send a reminder to complete 3D secure in 20 hours, which is well and good.

but looking at another similar invoice: in_1L2CvFDuowMsFSZJtFh6oe9U - there's no indication by stripe that a reminder was sent or would be sent

I have made sure that I've chosen the appropriate settings whereby customers should be mailed to bring them on session for offline renewal payments, and also set a proper reminder schedule
