hi! let me check but I don't think you can, the options would be to create a Customer first ,setting that on creation, and then passing that customer to customer param on the CheckoutSession, or updating the Customer the CheckoutSession creates after the payment in the webhook handler

in the mean time, would it help you to change the default language (on https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/emails) to French?

no, I from Swiss, we have 4 languages in use here.

create customer before checkout... it looks like an overkill for my very basic checkout process

I'm not seeing any passthrough option so I think the only option here is creating the customer upfront unfortunately

having said that I do agree it's unexpected that the receipt is in a different locale than what the Checkout page shows

we really should investigate and make that better, I'd encourage you to raise the feedback with https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true sharing the ID of the payment and screenshots so we can escalate and investigate
