hi there! It depends on what you mean by test purchases in live mode - do you mean using a test card number in live mode?
Yes, I guess that would do it.
Trying to get our head around the test mode of a live connected account as well. I'm guessing that would have something to do with it as well?
it's not possible at all. You can't use test cards in live mode
in short, you can only make use a real card to make live mode transactions
OK. Makes sense. I was told that the purpose of the test mode for live connected accounts was to send test purchases in live mode.
Which would come in handy
What is the use case for the test mode of live connected accounts?
i don't really have any context on why that information was shared with you, but to explain more on that :
For Connect webhooks, it’s important to note that while only test webhooks will be sent to your development webhook URLs, both live and test webhooks will be sent to your production webhook URLs.
Yes, I'm aware of that
it's got to do with legacy design reasons
Yes, I'm aware
What is the purpose of test mode for live connected accounts? That is not legacy but a new-ish feature.
What is the use case for those?
i'm not sure i understand the question, when you say testmode for live connected accounts - where in the documentation are you seeing this?
You can toggle a connected account into live/test mode. It's a real connected account not a test one.
I was told that was to process test purchases on live acccounts.
What is the purpose of that feature?
is this a standard account?
Doesn't matter. Express and Standard have it. If you don't know that's ok.
I'm just trying to find out more about it and how to use it properly
hopefuly for processing test purchases on the live account
i can probably tell you the answer, but i first need to know the details of where you're seeing this toggle
In the dashboard
