@civic mortar is there a workaround to handle this issue somehow? Or is the only solution to add a very high amount?

you can place a hold on the card https://stripe.com/docs/payments/capture-later with a higher amount and then capture less

Place a hold on a card

Separate authorization and capture to create a charge now, but capture funds later.

@civic mortar the solution is known to us. We did not want to always reserve such a high amount for the customer.
