If you mean a priori - before making a charge - then no, Stripe doesn't provide such an API. As mentioned here, it can always be fetched after-the-charge

Thanks for clarfiying @fair laurel

Thanks both, I know you can’t get the calculated fee value through the api before creating the charge but I wondered if there was just a rest api call I could make to literally spit out the raw figures that are shown on the pricing page. Like stripe.com/api/fees/gb => returns {local_percent: 1.4, local_fixed: 0.2, international_percent: 2.9, international_fixed: 0.2}

#

If no, a) can I request it for the backlog and b) How should we as users keep up to date on fee changes? Just keep checking the pricing page?

Ah I see... yeah no this isn't possible. And if we change our fees we will send you communication ahead of time about the change.

Specifically, no, there is no API for fetching those numbers. At all. I'm pretty damn sure it's been requested before, but never hurts to ask again. And, yeah, all we can do is "manually" stay on top. As a business process, I would recommend NOT trying to keep your fees closely tied to Stripe's charges

I've seen a few people come here about trying to closely track the fees to be a "as cheap as possible" service. I recommend adding more value to the transaction and keeping your fees comfortably high enough to buffer any changes.
