Hi there! Reading
What makes you think that it takes 2-3 days for the account to be set up?
We collect all the information needed to enable the account immediately. It is possible more information might be needed in the future.
And, what charge flow are you planning on using?
Hi @ashen plume thank you for such quick response. I am unfortunately non-technical founder. I have a team of developers who were describing the workflow to me in this manner regarding the expected 2-3 day lag for accounts to be set up. If that is not the case, then that is great to hear. Regarding charge flow question, I'm not sure on the answer to that.
We had a zoom call with a Stripe rep earlier today who pointed us to this discord to get more answers around this question.
I was just asking the question with hopes I can relay info to my team.
Gotcha. Yeah it shouldn't take 2-3 days really... verification can take a certain amount of time but shouldn't take that long.
For edge cases where the account does have an issue verifying and it takes longer than desired, you could look into using Separate Charges and Transfers.
This would allow you to take payments on your platform and then transfer to the Connected Account later on.
However, your platform information would be shown to the customer on the statement descriptor so you'll want to ensure that is desirable
https://stripe.com/docs/connect/charges-transfers is the documentation on Separate Charges and Transfers
Okay, that makes sense, understood. I'll keep Charges/Transfers in mind regarding a potential work around (if needed). But is it accurate that expectation is that most users can typically have their account 'enabled' in an 'immediate' time frame when setting up their own connect account?
It usually should only take a few minutes, yes.
terrific. I will pass this news along to my team. If there are follow-ups on the technical side, I will be back to ask. Thanks a ton for your insight!
