Thanks, can you tell me was this bank account created with the Payment Methods API or was it converted from an earlier Source?

spice juniper
#

not sure how im supposed to know that to be honest

#

Should it matter? I'm just trying to update metadata so

#

I'm taking a look at the object involved

spice juniper
#

im assuming since its ba_ it was a source

near flare
#

And yes it matters because failure to update the metadata on Payment Methods created via migrating older Source objects is a known bug that we are working to fix

#

I've been pushing for it to be prioritized and so I'll share this info to help make the case

spice juniper
#

middle of migrating 50 accounts from standard to custom all with banks that used to be sources

#

You can update the metadata by using the older Source API but it won't show up if you query the Payment Methods API.

spice juniper
#

you mean the new metadata wont show up?

near flare
#

Correct

spice juniper
#

so stripe's ach team 1) forcibly moved all old banks to the new api, 2) made it so that getting all customers payment methods involves 3 separate calls (sources where type === old bank, payment methods cc, payment methods new bank) and 3) doesnt let us update those old payment methods

#

all without a single mention of any of that in any public forum?

#

how am i reporting bugs to stripe every week and none of which are being reported in any fashion whatsoever

near flare
#

I raised this issue last month due to other Stripe users writing in. It is being prioritized currently. Unfortunately I do not have an ETA on the fix though.

spice juniper
#

There is no public forum for tracking incidents at all?

near flare
#

Only for our public libraries

#

On Github

My only recourse here is to try updating a bank account every day and wait until I dont hit a 400?

That is just feature launches not bug fixes

#

Have a good day, sorry for the frustrated attitude i know its not your fault

#

Just been running into bugs left and right since i think i migrated the most banks from v1 to v2 and standard to custom

#

an absolute shitshow the new ach api is awful for migrated banks

near flare
#

You calling it out helps me push for this to get a higher priority. I am relaying this information internally.

#

I agree the migration piece was not thought out from a user's perspective.

spice juniper
#

at least post it in a breaking changelog

#

anyways have a good day sorry for bothering you
