I'm thinking of just using Checkout for the initial payment, I'm sure that could send a receipt, I'm wondering about subsequent payment. People won't remember after a year that their card is about to be charged.

So, the idea is to send an email saying "your card is about to be charged $x."

ah I see.
I don't think we currently support that.
This is something you would need to design by handling webhook events

Cool. Do you know off-hand if Checkout supports paying via checking account direct debit, as well as credit/debit card?
