Gotcha.
You could use something like auth and capture where you place a hold on customer's payment method for the full day amount and then capture the amount they owe based on the hours

Place a hold on a card

Separate authorization and capture to create a charge now, but capture funds later.

Ok,this would require some engineering time I believe. any idea the time taken to implement this?
