Good question, I am not immediately familiar with how to specify that but am looking in to how to do that

Thanks for helping! You are doing great! ๐Ÿ˜„

#

I found a Beta for handling parts of this, but it's said beta for hot minute.

Can you send me the doc for that? I can check it out.

Thank you, I got busy and am still bouncing between a couple threads but I should be able to check back in to this in a minute, sorry for the delay

No sweat! You're a boss for handling all this! ๐Ÿ˜„

Thanks, it can get pretty hectic but it is always fun. Okay, getting back to this. If I can't figure this out quickly I will ask my colleagues for help, either way we should have an answer on this soon

#

I am less familiar with this behavior, what error or behavior are you seeing that is resulting from the currency being set too soon in this process?

#

It's behaving as expected in the outline here: https://support.stripe.com/questions/setting-a-customers-default-currency

I was just hoping there was a way to not force users into that situation so early.

Interesting I am actually surprised by that behavior because I thought Quotes shouldn't actually create the subscription or Invoice before they are accepted

#

Do you have the ID of a Quote that this happened with? I can take that to my colleagues so we can have a closer look

We setup an isolated test customer that we mantually set a test quote on: qt_0KyhXyF23R9jbzPTrQw2iJN8

Thank you, checking in to what happened with that quote

#

Unfortunately it looks like there is not a way to do this at the moment. I will put in feedback with a request to allow this behavior but I can't promise it will be added

#

Is there an issue that setting this default currency causes you down the line?

#

You may need to prompt your users for a currency first if possible

It's mainly user jitter. They might be "playing with checkout" but don't realize that selecting a currency is locking them in.

#

Once they have paid actual money in a currency: locking them is beyond reasonable.

#

Also from Stripe's UI: If I just accidentally selected the wrong Price in the wrong currency: It instantly updates the draft on the page without the need to hit "save draft".

Very jarring from a UX perspective as it may not have actual user intent.
