I think you're missing what I'm looking for. Is there an API call where we can fetch the 1099 form for the connect account so we can create a direct link to it in our custom platform?

No, there is no API endpoint at this time for fetching/downloading 1099 forms. These will need to be downloaded via your Dashboard
