I am not immediately sure what this might be. Do you have IDs of some guest customers that you are trying to understand how they were created?
hi and thanks for your reply. the transactions on the connect dashboard all have null as the customer attribute but this is expected since they are platform users. and the few connect guest users do not have customer id's (they do on the platform though). the only discernible difference may be that many others are wallet/phone pay transactions.
Do you have an ID of a PaymentIntent for each of these scenarios?
And is there an end goal to understanding this behavior? Are you trying to change the process for one to look more like the other?
yes, we have sample payment intent id's for both scenarios (customer payment - no guest customer created and customer payment - guest customer created)
the thought/desire is that guest customers on the connected account should not be created
Guest customers are create automatically where email, phone, or card used matches and you have no provided an explicit customer, as described here:
