Still taking a look here. The ask is, if you're using the bank account only for payouts to the custom connect accounts, will micro deposit be required via the API? Is this correct?

yes, is the micro deposit verification needed to continue to payout to some of our customers with stripe connected accounts that we set up as custom stripe connect accounts. The payouts are working, but we are wondering if they will stop working because we never verified the micro deposits that according to the docs Stripe might have made into the bank accounts.
While we have been creating some custom connected accounts manually in the dashboard for the users who have not been able to use Plaid, we will start to do this via the Stripe API and want to know if we need to go back to the manually created accounts and verify micro deposit amounts (that Stripe might have made automatically when the bank account info was added in the Stripe dashboard?) ?

Looking through our documents, bear with me
We do not verify external accounts so with adding an account for a payout for your Custom Connect will not trigger a micro deposit.

OK, ... but we probably should start to implement micro deposits to protect ourselves from user error if the user enters the wrong bank info. The stripe API mentions micro deposits, so we can go that route, right?

I did read about micro deposits though. I'll send the link to the docs, but want to make sure it is not available in our situation?

First this is legacy and it's purely about debiting their bank accounts for one time payments
it's incompatible with your flow, you can't use it

OK. So right now since Stripe is not providing any micro deposit ability, we would need to handle that completely on our end. Does Stripe do any bank account verification? Basically, if we can't use Plaid for a user's bank account then we need to handle the verification.?
... by any verification I mean do you know the name of the bank account holder to verify the name on the custome connected account matches.?
