just for reference the doc you linked is replaced by the new method of placing a hold on a card that you could read about here https://stripe.com/docs/payments/capture-later

Place a hold on a card

Separate authorization and capture to create a charge now, but capture funds later.

and the last section explains how to cancel the authorization

unfortunately no. from the capture later docs:

When a payment is authorized, the bank guarantees the amount and holds it on the customer’s card for up to 7 days.
