Lastly, you can do this via the Dashboard, which will likely be easier than CLI.

Why do you need to top up your bank_account balance?
we use ach, and that will not use funds from our card balance

Yes with our legacy ACH flow it adds to your bank_account balance. This was a previous regulatory requirement.
However, you can still transfer from your card balance if needed.
but when I retrieve balances from our platform account it gives me two balances, one for bank_account and one for card. And if I try to transfer money to another connected account bank_account balance it will not do it from our card balance

Sure that's correct with legacy ACH. But that doesn't stop you from transferring card balance to your Connected Account if needed
It isn't possible to top up your bank_account balance. So, if you need to add more funds to your platform, you have to transfer these extra funds via card balance.
With the ACHv2 flow (the new ACH flow), we no longer deposit those funds into you bank_account balance.
They also now go into your card balance

Are you using PaymentMethods (pm_xxxx) for ACH payments?
no
ACHv2 was released relatively recently. If your account has been processing for a while, and hasn't been updated, then you are likely still on the legacy flow.

I do have a problem tho - our accountant withdrew to much from our bank_account balance, and we need to top that up again
Okay in that case if it is a one-off, you can write into our Support team (https://support.stripe.com/contact/login) and see if they can help you move funds into your bank account balance. However, the result here might just be that you need to make a portion of transfers from your card balance.
