That's odd. I don't feel like you should have to specify bank account, if there is no card on the account, but I could be wrong. What happens when you initiate the request with source_type=bank_account?

We haven't tried that yet. I'm not the actual dev doing the work, just the PM helping on the project and found this issue when testing. I just haven't found anywhere that says we have to include that in the initial request for it to work. I would assume that if we show a balance in our stipe account and it is greater than the amount we are trying to transfer to a connected account, then it should just work, right?

Yeah, that's odd. I was able to create a transfer without explicitly setting bank_account and it just pulled from my test account's balance
Let me check internally to see if anyone has any ideas about what's causing this

So it looks like you will have to pass source_type=bank_account in order for these to work, so I'd have your devs make the update and it should pull from your current available balance just fine.
