I don't see anything about how to verify a CVC that's created for off-session, I just see the ability to resend the CVC for a second level of auth

You can leverage Radar to do this. Radar includes a rule to block any payments that fail the CVC verification check, which you can enable or disable within the Dashboard (this doesn’t affect payments where the CVC check couldn’t be performed).

The CVC check on Radar should be one of the defaulted rules so there should not be any cost to it.

and am I right in thinking that'll return an error response, triggering the PHP SDK to throw an exception?
