Hi there 👋 we won't have a ton of insight on this as it's up to the issuing bank whether they require that SCA/3DS be completed for a particular payment.

For recurring automatic payments, if the payment method was set up according to our recommendations, then we request an SCA exemption from the issuer because we know the customer isn't present and won't be able to complete a challenge flow. The issuer decides whether they accept that exemption request (in this scenario it sounds like they did, and usually they do) or require 3DS to be completed anyway.
