The exact same request works for a Connected account in SG for SGD currency
are you facing the same issue with other connect accounts?
Yes all connect test accounts created in INdia
I'm trying to look at whether there are specific limitations between the two countries
Just give me a couple of minutes
Sure
We are building a global platform - Is there any other country specific limitation that we should be aware of ?
we would like to have customers all around the world connect their stripe accounts and accept payments. Our platform account is planned to be setup in Singapore
I am using Destination charges with Onbehalf of .
if this is of any help
I am using Destination charges with Onbehalf of .
Yes I saw that in the requests you sent
I'm trying to find the underlying issue would be a couple more minutes and I will get back to you with an answer
No worries
are you trying to use GrabPay?
The problem that is occurring here is that since you are creating the payment intent with SGD and using automatic_payment_methods GrabPay is being enabled which doesn't work in India
I would suggest you write to https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true since this might be a bug and describe exactly what we discussed here

It is only enabled in platform account and not connect account settings
yes but since you are doing destination charges we should take into consideration the country of the merchant for GrabPay and don't enable it which apparently is not the case
let me know if you need any more help
For now, If I disable grab pay it should work?
Alipay and wechat are also enabled
which is not supported in india
should i disable them too
I don't know if the bug is only regarding GrabPay or any other payment method, I prefer you disable one by one and test
keep me posted
would love to know the result of your tests
@rich kite After i disabled all the regional payment methods
It works
however I am getting this now
Stripe doesn't currently support destination charges with accounts in IN.
that was one of things I was afraid of. I'm not entirely sure what are the restrictions for IN but I guess it is probably better to use Direct Charges for merchant in IN
I suggest you could take a look at this https://support.stripe.com/questions/stripe-india-support-for-marketplaces

Destination Charges are not supported for a Platform outside of India
okay is there any other country that has the limitation
you could check this page https://stripe.com/docs/connect/payment-method-available-countries for payment method availability
Sorry @rich kite - I am checking about the destination charges
like India - Is there any other country that doesnt allow destination charges for overseas platform account
the destination charge has always restrictions on overseas money transfer
this is why we recommend either doing multiple platform (for each region) or direct charges
With direct charges would I be able to collect application fee ?
yes
Would i lose my platform branding on payment receipts
