Yes, thank you, we have. It seems to recommend a server-driven architecture for the terminal we have, but is referencing 'your point of sale application' - we don't have one - just want it to function as a card reader. Do we have to write one from scratch or?

Yes you are required to have a PoS application in order to handle initiating the transaction. That can't be done directly via the Reader.

The Reader basically is just a display and collects the card details.
