Hello. One moment

carmine marsh
#

btw, the client managed to ping from computer to terminal, however I still have to manage to arrange a support meeting with them to see if nslookup succeeds, and to verify that indeed they managed to change both computer as well as terminal DNSs to 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8

#

in the meantime, I thought I would ask because we keep getting more reports like this, and all of them are from Free ISP (using ipv6)

Got it. Let me check with a colleague who might know more about this. Will report back

carmine marsh
#

thanks!

What's the exact error message you're seeing?

#

From the sdk

carmine marsh
#

{"table":{"error":{"table":{"message":"Could not communicate with the Reader. Please make sure your reader is online and on the same network as your device. See https://support.stripe.com/questions/terminal-connectivity-issues for more details.","code":"reader_error"}}}}

Do you have what network request that is being made and is failing from the network tab?

carmine marsh
#

no that I don't have, as I have yet to schedule a support session with one of these customers

#

I just wanted to know if you happen to know about any common problem related to ISPs that use IPv6

#

if you can't think of any particular reason now, then I'll have more info after Monday, I'll come back with some request traces from chrome developer tools

#

I'll ask the customer to email to me

#

Ok sounds good. Once you have more info we can debug further. I asked my colleague, and they said there isn't a known issue with IPv6

carmine marsh
#

ok thanks for your time

real canopy
#

Oh wait actually. One moment

carmine marsh
#

you can now close this thread, will come back on monday

#

aaah ok

#

I wait

real canopy
#

Does the internal network only serve ipv6? The external network ip shouldn't matter though

carmine marsh
#

the ip of the terminal is normal ip v4: "ip_address":"192.168.1.173"

#

and the ping from computer to that address is successful

real canopy
#

Ok cool

#

Can you also ask what the exact behavior in the browser network console is when you talk to the customer next?

#

For when you come back Monday

carmine marsh
#

yes I will for sure

real canopy
#

Ok thanks

#

We can't do much more until we have that info, so you're good to delurk until Monday
