Hi 👋 my understanding is that if you're not registered for a location then Stripe Tax will not calculate tax amounts for transactions in that region.

if we later register for that region, does the subscription start collecting tax at that point?

I believe so, I think once you register to collect in a new location any new invoices for that region would include tax calculations.

@desert sable on a similar note, if a customer doesn't have proper zip code information associated with them, how does stripe handle that?

I believe, it will depend on the product. If you're using Checkout for example, you must provide a zipcode in order complete the payment
