o wait
wrong one, 1 sec
Nah all good. Same issue, just other invoice
This one shows NL VAT, which is wrong also
Ok, so the tax was calculated and included in the payment it's just not on the invoice PDF. Is that right?
I can see it here. Am I misunderstanding the question?
No. It just calculates NL VAT for every order on the backend. On the frontend, some invoices have NL VAT and some have no VAT
What it needs to be: If you are from FR you get FR VAT percentage on the front and backend
DE gets DE VAT and so on
This is Cybersole, a company that also uses Stripe. As you can see, the invoice has my VAT on it (NL 21%)
This is correct
It just calculates NL VAT for every order on the backend
What makes you think it should be using other tax calculations? Here's the detail page for that invoice: https://dashboard.stripe.com/invoices/in_1KqjC4KSYnb5jjAiVwcS3pS7
Sign in to the Stripe Dashboard to manage business payments and operations in your account. Manage payments and refunds, respond to disputes and more.
Because that is how it works in the EU
Tax is calculated on the location of the user
Until 2021 it was always NL VAT. But since june 2021 the tax shouyld be calculated from the country of the customer
Ok, so the backend seems good
Just invoice output is wrong
I don't understand. The tax was calculated according to the location of the user at the time of the payment (not the billing details)
Why should it show DE VAT?
Because the customer is from Germany
Since 1 July 2021 you need to calculate the tax from the country of the customer
Thats a new ruyle
rule* in the EU
Sorry, don't really have much insight into EU tax legislation. Stripe Tax was launched around that date, so I'm sure all regional legislation was considered
I'd recommend writing in to support with your query as it's not really a technical Q I can help with: https://support.stripe.com/contact
