hi! yes, Invoices are specific to using Invoices and Subscriptions, if you do a regular payment using something like a PaymentIntent directly then there is no Invoice

if you really want an Invoice you can use one for the one-off payment instead and do the payment either using the invoice.payment_intent or using the hosted invoice payment page
