Is there a reason you need an alternative? Updating the customer email address would get you exactly what you want - does it not fit one of your requirements?

imagine i want to keep on stripe a record of each of my system billing contact. updating his email will lose of that data

You can keep that information in your own databases though

The only other alternative is that in the dashboard we allow you to specify additional billing contacts when you update a customer - this is a dashboard-only feature

agreed and that what we are doing right now. but it will be nice to allow to switch contact on a susbscription on stripe as well. better to manage it symmetrically

Yeah the only other option to manage this with stripe would be through the dashboard flow I mentioned
