I am using UI button to generate a link, like this: https://connect.stripe.com/oauth/authorize?redirect_uri=https://connect.stripe.com/hosted/oauth&client_id=ca_LMuankOryG68BYk3L8NNgFx4XJn6r39C&state=onbrd_LXI8KK29nQd8UdM0Va1AnRVa2r&response_type=code&scope=read_write&stripe_user[country]=US

create test connected account it also says Test Mode at the top

Hi! Are you creating a Standard account? If so, test bank accounts won't work. You'll need to provide a real bank account number, even in test mode.

So yes, unfortunately you neeed a valid bank account number. If you cannot use your own bank account, they you can try to find some online. Search on Google something like "fake <country> bank account number"
