Hello! The answer here kind of depends on what kind of bank account you'll be working with - if you're using ibans then we do have an element for that to collect that information, but you can also use stripe.js and your own UI to collect these details and call stripe.createToken (see https://stripe.com/docs/js/tokens_sources/create_token?type=bank_account)

allright, so for example if its a canadian bank account, there's no stripe element, so I would have to create my own ui, create a token and then set the external account with the ui. but then the details would hit my infra and not be in the stripe iframe tho. any way around it or are bank account numbers considered "safe enough" to accept on our system and then tokenized?

I'm not a compliance expert, but from my understanding it should be considered "safe enough" to accept through your own system - cards have a lot more rules (PCI compliance), but that shouldn't apply to bank accounts
