If you want to use credit on a specific subscription, you will likely want to create a credit note on that subscription's Invoice(s) as appropriate https://stripe.com/docs/invoicing/dashboard/credit-notes

Issue credit notes

Use the Dashboard to adjust or refund finalized invoices with credit notes.
