Are you talking about adding a bank account as a payment method for a Customer? Or are you talking about something else?
Adding a bank account as payout method
Is this for a standalone stripe account, or for a connect account?
For a standalone Stripe account
Gotcha - for a standalone account you can have only one payout bank account per-currency, but you can have bank accounts for different currencies (for example, you can have a USD bank account and a GBP bank account)
Connect is a separate stripe feature that allows you to collect payments for marketplaces where multiple accounts are involved (see https://stripe.com/en-no/connect)
Thanks. Can you also send me a link where it explains what a standalone account is?
Is it also called "Standard" account?
There isn't a specific link that talks about what a standalone account is - if you're not using Connect in any way and are integrating with Stripe directly then you'd be using a standalone account
Ok thank you so much!
Sorry, just another one. If I integrate Stripe to our Wix website, will my standalone account be eligible to switch to a connect account?
Or have a multiple payout method?
I need to head out, but @amber bough is around and can answer your follow up questions!
Unfortunately you won't be able to switch, Standard and Connect accounts are two separate things. A connect account is an account type that a platform makes for each person that wants to connect to it and it is only really tied to that platform.
You may find it useful to reach out to support about multiple payout methods here. This server is more for coding questions. Unfortunately I don't know of a way for your Standard account to do this but if you describe your situation to support we may have a workaround or another way to address your requirements here. https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true
Ok thank you for your help! Appreciate it!
