Is this the usual situation for people?
yes this is expected really, nothing wrong with it apart from clutter depending on how you look at them
If so, does anyone cancel them or anything so that they're not just hanging around as incomplete?
some let them be, some cancel them
Or am I just being a bit OCD about them?
haha no not at all, I've heard similar feedback occasionally and my same answer above

Preumably cancelling them doesn't remove them from the admin view, it just shows them as cancelled?
yes I believe so, though you could filter them in the Dashboard but that is after a click or two

(Or at least be in a position to tell my client that it's normal and just accept them!)
