Ah, so the reason for the different behavior here is that the settings in your Dashboard for how to handle failed payments. You used to have it set to mark the Invoice as uncollectible, but you changed it to leave the Invoice as-is.

Sorry about the delay, we wanted to make sure we got you the right info. We're pretty sure the primary difference between these two Subscriptions/Invoices is the test card used. For one of them you used an FR test card, but the other used an IN test card, which means the RBI regulations/logic kicked in for one of them and resulted in the voided Invoice.

Have a look at #4 there, which says:

Payments from India issued cards are only attempted once.
