Hello! The initial validation process is a one-time thing, but Apple may check for the file again in the future, so we recommend you leave it in place. I'm not sure I understand why you can't leave the file in place, can you provide more details there?

#

You mentioned several domains using the same codebase, but the Stripe Apple domain association file is not specific to each domain or a Stripe account. It's the same file for everyone. Or are you trying to validate domains with Apple for use outside of Stripe?

Hi Rubeus

#

I'm talking about this:

#

in the config for apple pay

#

I need to add my web domains

#

when doing ADD, it asks me for the domain name, then lets me download the .well-known file

#

and has me publish it to verify domain ownership

#

Yeah, the apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association, correct?

gray garden
#

yes

#

so that is linked to one domain, no?

untold stirrup
#

That's the file I'm talking about above, yeah.

gray garden
#

since I had to give the domain name?

untold stirrup
#

No, it's not linked to a domain.

#

It's the same file across all of Stripe.

gray garden
#

ah, so the domain is just a name then?

untold stirrup
#

Yes, you can upload that one file and use it across multiple different domains.

gray garden
#

then we're alright - I was afraid this was tied to the domain name

#

maybe update your UI to change the label from "domain" to "identifier / name" or something :-). It got me confused a little bit ๐Ÿ™‚

#

But thanks for the swift support ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy to help!

#

I mean, to clarify, the UI is correct. You're validating the domain with Apple.

#

It's not a generic identifier or name, it needs to be the specific domain.
