Hi there 👋 my understanding is that you need to use the in-app purchase flow for in-app purchases (such as dlc, extra content, level skips, etc) but that it shouldn't be used for purchases of external services.

This is Apple's policy though, so they will be the right group to give you a definitive answer on the right approach for your particular use case.
