The card was declined. And the status is "previously_declined_do_not_retry"
But how does this translate to high risk?
I'd assume this is just the bank not approving the transaction for some reason, but since 3ds2 was completed it seems weird
A bank can decline a card for any reason they want.
I'm looking into the history of the payment method
I know, I'm mainly asking about 3ds2 + normal risk = high risk blocked by stripe
I mean the feedback just seems incorrect
Yeah. Risk is handled by a different group so unfortunately I do not have insight into that. However, it may be in the decline code issued by the bank
Okay
I checked radar and it's also disabled for the account, so it's not that
It's not super important, I was just wondering
Yeah, bank authentications and risk exist in addition to any Radar features. Those are internal and designed to add more rules/checks.
Yeah fair enough
This just makes it very much seem like it's Stripe and not the bank
So maybe there's room for improvement there if it's not actually stripe blocking it
Well no, this is accurate. Stripe is blocking this request because internally it is considered at high risk for decline, because it was declined previously
