Hi! The recommended way is when you charge your customers (with destination charges or separate charges and transfers), your platform account should keep a fee.
We do that. This is different.
When one of their client's creates a bank dispute against our clients, Stripe automatically leave us with the fees. We have agreed that our customers will pay this but we need a mechanism to actually collect the fee when their card details aren't on file.
So for example now, a client has disputed a $25 charge and there is also a $15 fee. Our clients always just sort this out with their clients face to face. So they get their money back and we get left with a fee which is really nothing to do with us. We need a mechanism to rectify that. We can do it if they have a card on file, but because as you say, our payments are taken by platform fee, our clients rarely need to have a card on file.
Make sense?
Thanks! Give me a few minutes to look into this.
