Okay we're digging but the event should happen every 10 minutes even with a simulated reader

Testing yesterday I was not seeing battery level update event being triggered on simulated reader

but physical device was sending event properly

#

I had a log in my listener and waited for 20 min, never saw it in console.

Switched to physical reader, connected, log appeared immediately after successful connection

what type of simulated reader do you use?

Sure thing. I was using the first in the list of 3 simulated devices that appear during bluetooth discovery. CHB20SIMULATOR:(bunch of letters/numbers here)

I'll try again to confirm and contact support to report bug if I can repro it again

yep confirmed again, connecting to physical reader triggered batteryLevelUpdate immediately after connection, simulated reader did not
