#Darby - Connect Payments

Hello! Can you provide more details? What type of connected accounts are you using? When you say they "shouldn't be in your account" what do you mean exactly?
Sorry without using stripe connect
Hi! Yes. So ideally we would charge a user, on behalf of another user. This payment shouldn't sit in our account, but in a seperate account that we operate. Not technically a escrow, but that kinda of set up
Oh, without Stripe Connect? No.
You would need to use Stripe Connect for something like this.
I see, that might work. Thanks Rubeus
Question
Can i do a payout from one stripe connected account to another?
What do you mean? What exactly do you want to happen?
ok so if i make a connect account, that would hold all these funds. When a user wants to cash out, i would tranfer from that connected account to the users connected account
What do you mean by "from that connected account to the users connected account"? The connected account is the user's connected account, right?
ok, so I need to hold funds outside of my stripe account. So i need to take payments and then tranfer them into that account. From that account, i need to payout to a user.
It sounds like you're describing direct charges with Standard connected accounts. Is the funds flow on this page what you want? https://stripe.com/docs/connect/direct-charges#flow-of-funds-with-fees
No not really. Is there a way my stripe account support two bank accounts?
We support different bank accounts for different currencies.
Can you describe your use case more? What are you trying to build, and why do you need the funds to flow the way you do?
So right now our current platform does charges, and that money is ours. But we need a way for users to tranfer money to other users, but we dont want to deposit that money into their bank account right away like a connect account. We only want to payout when they withdraw funds from us. For legal reasons the users money cannot be held in the same bank account as ours
We need to hold the users money in a "escrow" account until they leave our eco system
It doesn't sound like there's an easy solution to this. That's ok, we can manually transfer at the end of the day. 🙂 Thanks Rubeus
It sounds like this use case may not be supported on Stripe, actually. Stripe specifically does not allow escrow.
yeah it doesn't need to be an escrow, it just needs to be a seperate bank account
I recommend talking to support about your use case and what the best approach would be. They should be able to give you a better, more informed answer than I can: https://support.stripe.com/contact
